ZILKER PARK
ABOUT THE PARK
Zilker Park is one of the things that makes Austin such a great city to live in. This park has something for everyone including hiking trails, soccer fields, sand vollyball courts, Barton Springs, The Zilker Botanical Gardens, the Austin Nature Center, and more. The great thing is that almost everything in this park is FREE. Many of these features deserve their own page, so below are links to many of the major attractions in Zilker Park:

Next to Barton Springs is the Zilker Hillside Theater which is home to Shakespeare summer musicals and several other types of performances. There are many other events which take place year-round in Zilker Park including the Zilker Kite Festival.
HOW TO GET THERE
Zilker Park covers a very wide area and technically includes Zilker Park, Town Lake Park, and Auditorium Shores since the whole area is connected via the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail. Basically, you need to get onto Barton Springs Road since that runs through the length of most of the park, then follow the signs to your destination.
