ABOUT THE PLACE

Gruene (pronouced "Green") is a suburb of New Braunfels, but it is presented as its own town. Basically, it's a few blocks of shopping and food. It's a fun place to visit, and I have a few recommendations:

1. Gruene Hall is an unairconditioned music hall with lots of good shows.

2. The Gristmill is a good restaurant in a neat old building.

3. I can't recall the name of the place, but on the north end of the strip there's a place that makes and sells turkey and beek jerkey. The turkey jerkey is the best in the world.
