ABOUT THE PLACEGruene (pronouced "Green") is a suburb of New Braunfels, but it is presented as its own town. Basically, it's a few blocks of shopping and food. It's a fun place to visit, and I have a few recommendations: 1. Gruene Hall is an unairconditioned music hall with lots of good shows. 2. The Gristmill is a good restaurant in a neat old building. 3. I can't recall the name of the place, but on the north end of the strip there's a place that makes and sells turkey and beek jerkey. The turkey jerkey is the best in the world. HOW TO GET THERETake 35 south for about 45 minutes. Take the Canyon Lake exit and follow it down a few miles until you see the Gruene sign on the left.
