SPOETZL (aka Shiner) BREWERY
ABOUT THE PLACE
The Spoetzl Brewery is where Shiner beer is made. It's a small brewery, and they offer free tours Monday thru Friday. At the end of the tour they take you to the hospitality room where you get to sample all of their beers... for FREE.
On your way to Shiner, stop in Gonzales and visit the Gonzales Memorial Museum. It is a small building which houses the actual "Come and take it!" cannon which played a role in Texas' fight for independance.
HOW TO GET THERE
Take 183 South to Gonzales. Then take Alt 90 (note: not "90", but "Alt 90" - there's a difference, and you'll pass "90" long before Alt 90). Then take 90 to Shiner and turn left onto 95. The brewery is 1/4 mile on the left.
