ABOUT THE PARKThe LCRA has established a park at Canyon of Eagles just outside of Burnet which has many ameneties including around 13 miles of hiking trails. Unfortunately, the trails are not all that exciting which is why this park gets such a low rating. It is a long way to go for such an unremarkable hike. The trails are mostly flat with a few hilly sections, and there are occasional lake views, but overall it's just not a very exciting hike compared with other trails in the Hill Country. The LCRA has a trail map on their web site here. Entrance fees are $5 per person.
HOW TO GET THERETake 183 to 29 to Burnet. Go thru Burnet and then turn right onto 2341. There will be a brown park sign there pointing you toward Canyon of Eagles. Follow that another 14 miles until it dead ends at the park entrance.
