ABOUT ITI really like Hill's Auctions. Even though 95% of the stuff that they auction off is just junk that should be thrown out, I always have a good time with them. Their auctioneers are easy to understand, and they do a very good job of running the show. Best of all, they have a good sense of humor, so the auctions are entertaining. Even though most of the stuff they sell is junk, there are usually some treasures mixed in with the junk, and that's why I keep going back. For example, at one auction recently, I picked up two rustic wooden chairs with a texas star cut into the back for a total of $15. I also won a great wooden stump table thing for $30, and got a really neat antique pitchfork for $5. Rural auctions ilke the ones at Hill's are where you can find valuable treasures because odds are nobody else there will realize how valuable certain items are. You won't find any professional antique collectors gobbling up the goodies at one of these. |
