ABOUT THE PLACE

One of the many attractions in Zilker Park. The Botanical Gardens is a definite must-see, and it is my favorite park of Zilker Park. There are many things to see here including:

• Xeriscape Demonstration Garden

• Cactus Garden

• Dinosaur Trackways

• Butterfly Trail

• Oriental Garden

• Rose Garden

I like the Oriental Garden the best by far! It is a small trail that runs along an artificial stream with lots of giant Koi ponds and other oriental elements.

There are many events that take place at the Botanical Gardens throughout the year. Check the Zilker Botanical Gardens web site for the current schedule. Surprisingly, entrance to the Botanical Gardens is free except when special events are going on, however, you can make donations at the office.
